Work Day

The Virginia Department of Highways mowed the berms on Hanover Church Road and exposed all the litter that had accumulated there over the past year. This morning we got together to clean things up a bit. Many hands made it light work.

At 8:00–11:00 this morning, the intrepid men of Hanover gathered at the parsonage to prepare firewood for Pastor Rick and Betsy. They are now in good shape for the winter, and even more wood is seasoning for the next year.

This morning several of us visited Ramoth Baptist Church, Stafford, who hosted a learning event for Sunday School teachers, deacons, women’s ministry and youth leaders, and everyone interested in a healthy church. This conference was a free event of worship, teaching and leadership training, and workshops to encourage, mentor and challenge us in our areas of service.

…for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ… ~ Ephesians 4:12

This morning Hanover men brought along their sons and daughters for a very special breakfast. In conjunction with the breakfast, our own Brandon Foster, a law enforcement professional, taught a self-defense class.

The Men’s Bible Study shifted from meeting in residences to meeting at the church starting tonight. This coincides with the start of a study in Proverbs that will run approximately 25 weeks. Each session lasts approximately one hour. All men and boys in the church are invited to attend.
