Past and Future Happenings

This morning’s Sunrise Service was a review of the resurrection story from the perspective that there was no slight-of-hand in Christ’s resurrection. He was most assuredly dead before He was buried and it was a miracle that He was resurrected! Luke 23:46-56.

Good Friday Service

This evening we met in the fellowship hall with some refreshments; it was a bit chilly to be outdoors per our original plan. We studied Romans 10:9-13 and the change brought about in trusting Christ. We had a time for sharing testimonies and it was a joyful celebration of the life-changing truth that Jesus Christ lives.

This spring’s lunch was delayed a couple times, but we finally got together today after the morning service. Our youth treated us to some great tacos with all the fixin’s. They did all the cooking, serving, and cleaning up. Thanks to all the young people involved for a great meal, but even more for your good example of loving service.

Christmas Dinner

Following the morning service we had a delightful meal. The children enjoyed a special time of crafting by making a variety of Nativity scenes. After the craft time, Pastor Crookshank gathered the youth into a circle and told them the story of the Nativity.

Tonight the adults convened at the Halpin home for this much-celebrated meal and gift exchange. We kept to hors d’oeuvres and desserts to maximize our fun time with the wacky gifts. Though no one received a weed whacker tonight, there were plenty of recycled Christmas ornaments, new surprises, and an unabridged Swiss Army knife that the recipient is still discovering uses for.
