From Monday, November 12th to Sunday, November 18th, Hanover was the Operation Christmas Child Relay Station for the local area. Over the week, families and churches delivered more than 750 packed shoeboxes to be relayed to Stafford on Sunday afternoon.

Dozens stayed after the morning worship service to help pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. After a quick meal of pizza and hot dogs,  we packed 300 boxes full of love and Christmas presents for children all over the world. Over the coming week, we packed an additional 25 boxes. Thanks to everyone for your loving work.

Tonight we started gearing-up for Operation Christmas Child. Everyone chipped in to help us get prepared and organized for Sunday’s packing party. With a little pizza and hotdogs for fuel, we proved once again that work really can be fun!

Dr. Brian Autry, Executive Director of the SBCV, delivered the message this morning. Dr. Autry, a successful church planter, was unanimously elected to his post this past May.

All ladies and their daughters (age 12 and up) were invited to join in the fellowship, fun and merriment.

Each lady brought an item or two that was gently used or inexpensively purchased that we didn’t mind someone else taking home. Each lady received tickets (at no charge) with which to “bid” for her most desired trinkets and treasures.

We also shared our favorite fall appetizers, savory snacks and sweet treats.
