God is holy and perfect He has to hold us to a high righteous standard. Instead of looking for a list of dos and don’ts, seek to live righteously.

Others want to erase your thinking of Christ. John gives us encouragement in the midst of this challenge that we face today. Do not lose heart; love God, obey and serve Him.

Salvation by God means eternal safety, but you also receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit and blessings that result in the only genuine joy a person can know.

God says we are not to love the world, but just want is the “world” He talks about? It is the world “system,” run by Satan. We must be wary of lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, and pride of life. These attract us to worldly things and away from God. No one can love both; either you love God or you love the world. The world will pass away, but God is eternal.
